Let's Chat

I usually don't sit down and write chatty posts like this, but I thought it was time for one. I totally understand that not all of you will be interested in a post like this, but I think that it's time that I sat down and told you all about the blog and what's in store for it.

Blue Days

It's been grey here all weekend. Lots of cloudy days and not much light. I'm usually a fan of this dreary weather, but it's been making me feel even more sluggish than usual. I've been staying inside all day wrapped up in blankets; it's a miracle I even made it outside for these photos. And the grey-ish tinge that this weather leaves anything with hasn't done much for my skin either, may I add.

Totoro Coconut Cake

I finally watched My Neighbor Totoro a few weeks ago. What's taken me so long? It's such a cute movie, and I love the animation style. In honor of the adorable character, I thought I'd make something creative and cute. In the end, I settled on making a mini cake.

Tickled Pink

Up until a few years ago, I had never really liked pink. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Oh, how things have changed. It's not necessarily my favourite colour; if you asked me what my favourite colour is, I wouldn't have an answer, because I can't choose. I also am not a fan of hot pinks. Light pink are just right for me. So I thought I'd share with you some of the pink products that I've added into my routine lately.

12 Resources to Help You Spring Clean Your Life

Everyone likes a good spring cleaning. When the flowers start to push their way out of the ground and the leaves start to bud on the trees, people like to have their own "rebirth", too.
This post is a little bit different than my usual posts. Today, I thought I'd share with you some links that can help you rejuvenate this spring. Enjoy!

Refreshing Your Routine

I just realized that the majority of my previous blog posts and the ones I have planned for the near future have to do with spring. You can't blame me, though. I've just spent months in a dreary Canadian winter, and while I do like winter, I'm ready for a change. Because of this change in the weather, there's been a bit of a change in my beauty routine. I thought that I'd share it with you today!

Eyes
Lately I've been loving wearing pastel shadows. The Body Shop Dolly Pastels Palette was a limited edition Christmas product a few years ago, and I think that it's the perfect little pastels palette. A more recent purchase of mine was the Hard Candy Single Eyeshadow in Naughty Girl, which is a gorgeous glittery pink.
Lips
As spring is a time well known for it's bright pinks, I've been reaching for the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Pink Blush. I also love peach shades, so I grabbed the NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Peach Fuzz a few days ago. The formula is a little hard to work with, but if you can get around that, it's a lovely natural shade.
Nails
I'm a little obsessed with wearing pastels on my nails, as some of you may know. The L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nail Colour in Doutzen's Nude is one of my go-to pinks that I reach for all of the time. When I also received Essie Find Me An Oasis for Easter, I was thrilled! It's a gorgeous robin's egg blue.

Body
When I placed an online order a little while ago, I received a free sample of the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil. It's a nice light change of moisturizer for spring, and also makes my routine go a little quicker. The Avon Playful Pink Daisy & Lemon Hydrating Shower Gel is also something I've been reaching for lately for its bright and refreshing scent. Speaking of refreshing scents, I've been obsessed with the scent of The Body Shop British Rose Exfoliating Soap. I may have to try some more from that range soon!

Spring Birds

An almost all black outfit you may say? Really Amy? It's not very seasonally appropriate, is it. It's also not very appropriate for me, as I almost always wear brighter colours. I'll blame it on the fact that I woke up to snow outside my window the other day. Really Canada? Can't you keep the spring weather for more then a week?
Spring Birds Outfit
I do have some cheerful little birds on my shirt, though. That should count for something. My spring break ended this week, and I'm still getting over a bad cold, so I thought that I should wear something cheery and cute to brighten up my bleary expression.
Spring Birds Outfit
This skirt is also lighter than what I've been wearing lately. I think it's adorable, even if it is a little big on me. That's what you get for shopping at thrift stores.
Spring Birds Outfit
I did use a flower to brighten up these photos a bit. That's all the spring this dreary weather is allowing me today.

DIY Spring Flower Crown

I'm usually not one for fake flowers, but as I was walking down isles and isles full of them at a craft store the other day, they got me really excited for spring. Not to mention, all of the spring fake flowers were on sale. So, I thought, why not give fake flowers a go? I thought I'd make a flower crown, because I take every opportunity I can to feel like a fairy.
DIY Spring Flower Crown
You Will Need:
♥ A headband (mine was plastic)
♥ Fake flowers and leaves of assorted sizes
♥ A hot glue gun

Step 1:
Start by gluing the leaves onto your headband, and then the largest of the flowers.

Step 2:
Glue the smaller flowers down the sides of your headband.

That wasn't much of a tutorial, was it? There's really not much to it, and every flower crown will look different. I have some flowers left over, and I was thinking of making some garlands out of them, would you like a tutorial for it?

If you try this, I would love to know! You can tag me on Instagram @littlemoondragon or email me at littlemoondragon@outlook.com.
