February Favourites

I'm back again with another favourites post! I've had a very busy February, but also a very good one. I hope that yours was good, too.
Some of my favourite blog posts this month were Sweet NothingsHomemade Strawberry MilkGlowing Makeupa review of the Lush Milky Bath Bubble Bar4 Style Blogs That Inspire Me, and a Valentines Day Accessories Wishlist.
Some of my beauty favourites were:
Clinique Clarifying Lotion 1
I've only been using this for a few weeks, but I can honestly see a positive difference in my skin. Not only does it seem to glow more, but I does what I got it to do: get rid of my acne scars. They're not completely gone yet, but with a combination of this and coconut oil as a moisturizer, they're starting to fade faster.
Trader Joe's Coconut Butter
I got this while I was in California, and I think it's the best body butter I've ever used. It's extremely thick and moisturizing, and has a dessert-like scent that stays on my skin for a while.
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme
This was part of my goal to get healthier and stronger nails, and I think it might be working. They seem to be growing faster, anyways. Also, I love the scent of lemon, so I think that this creme smells absolutely wonderful.
Marcelle BB Cream
I think that I've finally found the perfect BB creme for my skin. This makes my skin appear to glow and stays through a lot of dance-induced sweat all while managing to not be too heavy and cover up imperfections.
Simple Micellar Water
I've been trying a lot harder to take off my makeup before I wash my face lately, and this has worked wonderfully. There's nothing much to say about it, except that it does it's job well.
Gin Gins Ginger Chews
I was sick for a part of February, and this helped immensely with my sore throat. I think that they're wonderful, but they are also extremely spicy, so be careful!
The Palm Beach Story (1942)
When I was in need of a classic comedy one night, I reached for this. It drew my attention because I generally love any movie with Claudette Colbert, but as I watched I realized that I had seen it before! Nevertheless, I decided to re watch it and was laughing the whole time.
David's Tea Cherry Blossom
I think that I'm obsessed with this tea. I got it before Valentines Day, but I came back after to get two more tins of it on sale. It's dreamy, and so light and refreshing.

On another note, I'm going to have an extremely busy March, so I'm in need of guest posters! Send an email to me at littlemoondragon@outlook.com if you're interested.  Just make sure that your post at least remotely matches the theme of my blog, and I'll be very grateful.

What were some of your favourites in February?

Homemade Strawberry Milk

When I heard that today was strawberry day, I knew that I had to make something for it. I've  always thought that strawberry milk sounded magical, so I thought that I'd make some of the pink drink for myself.
Makes: Around one cup

Ingredients:
2 cups roughly chopped strawberries (I used frozen)
1 cup milk of your choice (I used almond)
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
1. Put your strawberries in a saucepan on low heat. Let simmer until a sauce forms.
2. Strain your strawberry mixture, leaving just the liquid.
3. Mix your strawberry syrup in with your milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Chill and enjoy!
Don't just throw out the strawberries that are left. You can eat them on pancakes or toast, along with many other uses. Plus, it tastes amazing!

If you try this please let me know, you can leave a comment below of tag me on Instagram @littlemoondragon.
Happy Strawberry Day!

{Review} Lush Milky Bath Bubble Bar

There must be nothing more relaxing than a morning bath. What could be more peaceful than soft light streaming in through my windows and flickering candles reflecting onto my bath water with bubbles crowding the surface?
When I first saw the Milky Bath Bubble Bar in my local Lush store, I fell in love with it. I mean, just look how cute it is! Not only is the bubble bar itself adorable, but it smells amazing. Since I'm so bad at describing scents, I'll use what the website says-"the delicate scent of orange oil to soothe your mind and let your troubles float away". I found this one of my favourite Lush scents to far, it's very light, and to me, not too overpowering.
The website also says this: "This comforting milk bottle bubbler is filled with moisturizing cocoa butter, skimmed milk and olive oil for supremely soft skin". I didn't read the description before I got it, so I didn't know that it was supposed to be softening. However, to me, it was noticeably softening, which I thought was lovely. I would definitely recommend this for dry winter days!
This is also the first ever bubble bar I've used, and I only used half of it. If you want lots and lots of bubbles, I would recommend using the full bubble bar. However, I was very happy with only half and thought that it made really nice bubbles that were light and fluffy.
To me, this wasn't one of Lush's products that had a big "wow" factor, but it is definitely one of the ones that I like the best.
Have you tried this bubble bar before? What do you think of it?

4 Blogs That Inspire Me: Style

I thought that I'd do a little something new on this blog and share with you four blogs that inspire my style. Without the inspiration of some wonderful blogs, I probably wouldn't dress the way that I do today. So sit back and enjoy!
Kailey is probably the one on this list that I've been following the longest. Her photos always look like they come from some sort of dreamland, and her style is something out of a fairy tale. Also, her hair is such an amazing cotton candy hue, I wish I had hair like her!
Alexandra is the most recent follow of mine in this list, but I'm so happy that I discovered her blog! She has some amazing vintage looks, but they seem so much more wearable than a lot of blogs I follow. Also, her photos are always gorgeous and inspiring.
Cat always seems to be wearing either an adorable print or a unique collar, and sometimes a combination of both! The bright colours and fun details always make her photos seem perfectly put together.
Rebecca is another blogger on this list with amazing mermaid hair. All of her photos are incredibly inspiring, my favourites being the one she takes surrounded by nature. She also always has adorable details in her outfits.

What blogs inspire you?

Glowing Makeup

Lately I've been loving glowing makeup looks. I know that mattes are more appropriate for the winter season, but I love the fresh-faced look that dewy makeup provides. So, I thought that I'd share a little makeup routine for a glowing look. This sort of thing is new on my blog, so let me know what you think of it!
I don't like using a heavy foundation, because I feel it makes my skin look cakey. This is one of the first bases I've tried that doesn't cling to my dry skin and make my face look like a patchwork quilt.
Since I still have lots of acne scars, I like to use a concealer. I've been liking this one a lot lately, but I think that it's important to find the right one for your skin.
Nothing wakes you up like a little swirl of blush! Just make sure that it's not to heavy.
I like to use this in my T-zone, but not to heavily. A translucent powder would probably be ideal for this look, but I don't have one at the moment.
Highlighter
As weird as it may sound, I typically use eyeshadows as highlighters. I tend to use one every day now because it makes my skin seem more full of life.
Eyeshadow Primer
If you aren't using a cream shadow, I think that this is a crucial step. It makes your eyeshadow last longer, and helps with the pigmentation.
Light Coloured Eyeshadows
I'm not sure why, but I haven't been doing any thing dramatic with my eye makeup lately. Right now, I prefer the look of lots of creams and pinks.
Mascara
For me, this is a crucial step, It instantly opens my eyes and makes me look more awake.
Lip Gloss
For a look like this, I like to reach for a light gloss instead of a lipstick. I feel like it completes the dewy look.

What kind of makeup have you been loving lately?

Sweet Nothings

I'm a total sucker for Valentines Day decorations. I think they might be my favourite out of any holiday. I'm not sure why I like Valentines Day so much, because I never have liked the mushy aspect of it. It must be all of the chocolates, pinks, and pastel colours.
When I saw this dress at a thrift store, I fell in love. It's the dress of my dreams, from the peter pan collar and the lace details all the way down to the cotton-candy hue. What more can I say? I'm obsessed.
Since I took a shower this morning and didn't want to use heart to curl my hair, I thought it was the perfect time for a messy, romantic braid. If you want to know how I did it, I have a tutorial!
Both this year and last year, I tried to make cute Valentines Day nails and was left with an utter mess. So here's an "artistically blurred" photo of them to make them look nice.
These shoes were also thrifted, and one of my favourite pairs that I own. I love shoes of any kind with a t strap. These are also some of my favourite tights, but this is sadly the last time I can wear them because I have so many runs.
Outfit Details: Thrifted Dress (you can find second-hand identical versions here and here), old tights, thrifted shoes
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day!

Valentines Day Accessories Wishlist

I'm all for Valentines Day this year. Not for all the mushy couple part, but for the rest. The chocolates, the desserts, the adorable decorations, and all the pink. I'm trying to make the most of it this year, so I thought I'd share with you a little wishlist.
one//two//three//four//five//six
Alright, I know that these are all similar, but I love them all. I have an undying love for pastels, as you may be able to tell. What are you looking forwards to this Valentines Day?

January Favourites

I'm much more motivated for February than I was for the New Year. Don't ask me why, because I can't explain it. This may be evident to any one who avidly follows my blog (probably no one), because the number of posts I made last month came in at a grand total of three. One of those was my December Favourites post, and the other two were Dressing for Holiday Parties and a review of the Sephora Wonderful Dreams Palette. I like to tell myself that the cause of my tiny number of posts was because I was in California for a week, but really, it's just because I'm lazy. But let's continue on with my favourites!
The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter
I got this on sale after Christmas, and I absolutely love it. It's thick, moisturizing, luxurious, and I love apple scents.
I got this while I was on vacation because I realized that I'd forgotten to take a lip balm with me. I really like it, and I think that it's a good basic lip balm.
Another holiday apple scented product, are you noticing a theme? I picked this up because it seemed like I didn't have any fun soaps, and I love how long the scent stays on my hands.
Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter
I've been needing a good lip butter for a while, and I'm really impressed with this one. Not only does it work well, it's super cheap!
I've heard a lot about this mascara, and I was wondering if it would live up to the hype. I'm happy to report that it does! It lengthens my lashes and gives them more volume.
Zhena's Gypsy Teas
I've been loving brand lately, and this little stack of tins came in handy when I was traveling. I also love all of the flavours!
Roses by Coeur De Pirate
I think I'm obsessed with this album. I've been listening to it non-stop, and hopefully I'm picking up a little French from some of the songs.
The Big Sleep (1947)
What could be better than a Bogart and Bacall film noir? The only problem that I have with this movie is that the plot is rather complicated, so you really have to pay attention to it. But other than that, I love it, and I think that there are some days perfectly suited to a suspenseful film noir.

Have you tried any of these before? What were some of your January favourites?
